Doug Davis is an illustrator and cartoonist based in Pasadena, California. His weekly editorial cartoon, Urban Scrawl, appeared from 2005 to 2017 in the Los Angeles Downtown News and received many top awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association and a first place in Editorial Cartooning from the L.A. Press Club. Over the past 20 years, Davis has written and illustrated such comic strips as Cubicle Dreams, DisJoint, and Hy Life.

A full-time illustrator since 2001, Davis previously worked in the field of graphic design, art directing magazines and newspapers as well as designing books, book covers, and logos. A graduate of Stanford University, he enjoys esoteric discussions on continental philosophy, moral geneaology, and bluegrass music.
